Resources for Parents

NCPEID offers various resources for parents to assist them in supporting their children in both physical education and physical activity.  

 Listed sites and materials can be utilized by parents to support their children. 

NCPEID Special Education workshop provides basic information and rights on your child's participation in educational settings.

Transition to Kindergarten. This book maps out the process of the transition to kindergarten and provides tools to help parents become active members of the IEP team.  

Transition Planning. The transition from high school into the world of adulthood is a milestone for all young people. This book maps out the process of transition from school to adulthood.

Parents Rights Card. This card contains some of your rights under Special Education Regulations.

Center for Parent Information Resources. Your central “Hub” of information and products created for the network of Parent Centers serving families of children with disabilities.

National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD)Founded in 1999, the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD) is a public health practice and resource center on health promotion for people with disabilities. NCHPAD seeks to help people with disabilities and other chronic health conditions achieve health benefits through increased participation in all types of physical and social activities, including fitness and aquatic activities, recreational and sports programs, adaptive equipment usage, and more.
