2023 NCPEID Annual Conference 

The National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID) will be hosting the 2023 NCPEID Annual Conference on July 13-15, 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Crystal City (Washington, D.C.). The conference will return to an in-person format this year. Attendees and presenting authors must be current NCPEID members and must register for the conference.

How to Register for the Conference:
●   Login to the NCPEID site with your username and password
●   On the “Conferences and Events” tab, select “NCPEID Annual Conference”
●   Click the Registration button and follow the link to register on the Whova site
 
Not yet a member/not a current member?
1. Click “Join/Renew” on the right side of the page and Login to complete the membership application and become a member
2. Follow the directions above to register for the conference


The NCPEID organizes peer-reviewed, competitively selected presentations for its annual National Conference program. Proposals are sought for the following session types: Poster presentations, Free Communication presentations, Round Table Discussions, and the Emerging Scholars Symposium.

Types of Sessions

Poster Presentations:

  • Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
  • Posters should present current research, or most current research-related issues such as advocacy, professional development, or other areas.
  • Poster presentation proposals should include the following sections and/or headers: Title; Authors, Affiliation, Contact information; Introduction/Purpose; Methodology; Results/Discussion; Summary/Conclusions
  • Please note that posters should be hung for display at your designated area at the start of the conference on 7/13 and will remain on display throughout the conference
  • Posters should be in portrait orientation, with a recommended size of 24 inches wide by 48 inches high. When preparing your poster, we recommend using large type and print font that can be reasonably read from a distance.


Free Communications Presentations:

  • Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
  • Free communications should be centered on research, best practices, advocacy, grant seeking, or other areas. The free communications should be formatted as a 12-minute oral presentation that will be presented to the entire audience of attendees, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A.

 

Round Table Discussions:

  • Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
  • Lead one 20 to 30-minute collaborative discussion with a group of the conference attendees. The Roundtable Discussions are intended to collate and/or build resources (e.g., white papers, position statements, shared ideas) to enhance the organization’s stance and current major issues in the profession, or to enhance practice (e.g., teaching tips, strategies for practitioners, etc.). Please note that A/V resources may not be available for Roundtable Discussion sessions.

 

Emerging Scholars Symposium:

  • Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
  • This session is dedicated to students and practitioners who are new to but actively engaged in the research process and are seeking feedback from scholars in the field.
    • Note: The lead author accepted for the Emerging Scholars Symposium will have the conference registration fees waived.
  • Emerging Scholars Symposium will be designed in the following format:
    • Students or practitioners orally presenting their research in progress to the entire audience ((3-5 min per presenter).
    • Followed by a 30-minute breakout session where the emerging scholars receive additional feedback and inquiries individually from audience members at their posters.
    • Proposals should include the following sections and/or headers: Title; Authors, Affiliation, Contact information; Introduction/Purpose; Methodology; Preliminary Findings/Results/Discussion (if applicable); Summary/Conclusions (if applicable)
  • Please note that posters should be hung for display at your designated area at the start of the conference on 7/13 and will remain on display throughout the conference
  • Posters should be in portrait orientation, with a recommended size of 24 inches wide by 48 inches high. When preparing your poster, we recommend using large type and print font that can be reasonably read from a distance.

Registration rates for the 2023 NCPEID Annual Conference

All registration rates include lunch (Friday and Saturday) and snacks.

  • Early Bird Professional Member- $275

 Register for the conference by June 14th and save $50 off the standard registration rate. 

  • Standard Professional Member- $325

Conference attendees may register for the standard rate of $325 when you register between June 15th – *June 28th

  • Student Member- $150

Student member registration rate is $150.


*Note: Registration will not be available for the NCPEID 2023 Annual Conference after June 28th.

Important Information:
-Registration fees for the 2023 NCPEID Conference are non-refundable
-All conference attendees must hold current NCPEID membership as of July 13, 2023
-Registration will be pending until your membership status is confirmed by NCPEID
